We have visited Oahu three times, and each time I make my husband stop off at the Dole Plantation. It is easy to find as there is only one main highway (Kamehameha Hwy) that takes you up through the middle of the island to the North Shore.
Our first trip we hopped on the Express Train Tour, but now we just visit for the Pineapple ice-cream. This place has grown and is definitely a lot busier than it used to be with long lineups for food so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time. The main attraction at the grille is the Pineapple Split for $26US. A bit pricey but it is big enough to share!
The grounds are beautiful and well-marked, so we had some fun with the photo opportunities on the property. (Yes, the pineapple head is my husband, and the hula girl is me!)
We have never done the garden maze which has been declared the world’s largest maze, but this gives us a reason for a return visit.
