Exploring Street Art in Istanbul Turkey

We have a certain love of street art, so even though we may not add it to our trip’s itinerary, we do keep our eyes open for graffiti that catches our eye. Our trip to Turkey was no different.

We did zero research before the trip but by just walking up Istiklal Street and around the region of Taksim, we saw the work of many talented artists.

Adam’s favourite graffiti from this trip was the collaboration art with the rabbit wearing Nike Air Max. Visit Adam’s Instagram account to understand why.

We were pretty excited to stumble across one of the famous hipster pandas by Leo Lunatic. This turned out to be a pretty great photo with the Galata Tower in the background.

This wall was too big to get in one photo, but I believe it was done by the super talented “Omeria”.  The detail was incredible and the use of colour brilliant.

We also saw a lot of the yellow fists done by the Berlin based Graffiti Writer Kripoea.

I also had to throw in a photo of one of the many Istanbul cats that was just lounging below a graffiti wall.

All in all, without having done research beforehand, we stumbled across some really great street art that has us wishing we could go back. Definitely add it to your list of THINGS TO DO while in Istanbul.
